Building Automation Controls Programmer/Engineer

Job Description

The HVAC Controls Programmer will program and design graphical displays within the design and fiscal parameters. They will be responsible for assisting inspection and validation of all systems, assist with installation method direction on site representation and system commissioning.

Essential Functions

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve software issues.
  • Diagnose Communication issues with control devices and other including network issues.
  • Ability to create code software to meet sequence specifications, while following our standards or site standards
  • Ability to create graphics for new/existing systems while following our standards or site standards if applicable.
  • Create code at advanced level and complexity
  • Provide onsite training to customer
  • Recognize potential issues with new sequence/existing to be modified, offer solution’s communicate with PM
  • Assist in developing software standards and streamline processes
  • Provide technical support to other team’s on other project sites as well as other team members
  • Understanding of network infra structure. Advanced IT skills for installation of servers and workstation.
  • Programming and troubleshooting standard protocols such BACnet, Modbus, LON.
  • Assist with commissioning and startup of new system’s through operational /functional testing
  • Suggest system Improvements, modifications, etc.
  • Handle multiple assignments, ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Ability to review specifications and sequences and make recommendations if applicable
  • Advanced level of HVAC theory and ability to identify issues and troubleshoot those issues.
  • Proficient in software applications such MS word, excel, visio, Niagara AX, ALC, Siemens, Johnson Controls

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, BACnet, DDC, Niagara AX, ALC, Siemens
  • Experience with temperature controls systems, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Alerton & Trane
  • Must be able to read and understand blueprints
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Self-motivated, goal and result oriented, customer focused, and efficient in face paced environments
  • Maintain high standards of quality with attention to detail
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize workload, and work as a team required
